Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of technology-based distribution management and lean principles in improving the operational efficiency of distribution companies. In an increasingly dynamic era of globalization, distribution companies face major challenges in managing delivery times, operational costs, and flexibility to market demand fluctuations. Through case studies of four companies that adopt advanced technology and Lean distribution principles, this study shows that the application of technology, such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and automated route planning, can significantly reduce lead times and delivery costs, with an average reduction of 20-30% in delivery times and 15-25% in operational costs. In addition, the application of Lean distribution principles that emphasize efficient inventory management and pull systems has been shown to reduce waste and increase flexibility, with inventory reductions of up to 35% and waste of up to 40%. However, the implementation of technology and Lean distribution also faces obstacles, such as limited technological infrastructure and the need for human resource training. This study suggests that companies invest more in relevant technology, train employees, and design a more flexible supply chain to stay competitive in the global market.
